Ottawa FAQs

Our team is passionate about Ottawa and has worked tirelessly to find a great venue, which required some flexibility with our dates. This year, our event will take place on the Thanksgiving weekend. To ensure that all attendees who celebrate the holiday on Saturday can still join us, we’ve scheduled an early finish at 5:15 PM, giving everyone the chance to spend time with their families. We’re thrilled that Change Conf Ottawa will have the space to grow and welcome even more youth groups this year!

WHO RUNS CHANGE CONFERENCE?

Change Conference is hosted and organized by the Change Conference Team. The Change Conf Team loves the youth of Canada and values the incredible work of youth leaders. Our vision is for every youth in Canada to hear, respond and live out the message of Jesus in their lives. Change Conference is a ministry under Youth for Christ Canada.

WHO IS YOUTH FOR CHRIST CANADA?

Youth for Christ sees the hope and potential in every young person we meet and we reach them through community specific programs. We believe that transformed youth have the opportunity to transform communities, our country and the world. YFC engages and equips youth to know and follow Jesus.

WHAT IS THE TARGET AUDIENCE/AGE GROUP FOR CHANGE CONFERENCE?

Our target audience is Jr. High and High school age young people.

WHO IS REQUIRED TO REGISTER?

We recommend that youth leaders register their youth in a group for a simplified registration. Registrations can also be accepted individually. Everyone participating in the Change Conf experience will need a ticket. Every student under the age of 18 will require an accompanying chaperone. Each ticket will be scanned at the door.

CAN YOUTH ATTEND WITHOUT A CHAPERONE?

We ask that all attendees under the age of 18 attend the conference with a chaperone. Attendees are the responsibility of their youth leader and/or parent that they attend the event with.

CAN I VOLUNTEER?

Of course! Please fill out our volunteer form and we’ll go from there. We’d love to meet you!

DO I HAVE TO REGISTER FOR A SPECIFIC LOCATION?

Yes. To make sure that we have space for everyone we need to know which event you plan on attending. There are separate registration pages for: Toronto, Ottawa, National & Alberta.

HOW DOES TICKETING WORK?

Tickets can be purchased online by the youth leader, parent or student. All students are required to attend with a youth leader or chaperone. Every student, and leader and chaperone is required to have a ticket. Youth leaders can buy tickets on behalf of their group for ease of purchase. Tickets will be required at the door.

WILL THERE BE ITEMS AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE?

Yes, will be selling merch as well as Change Conf and Artist merchandise.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE EY CENTRE?

We are so excited about this awesome new venue! Here are some things that all chaperones should know.

This is a public facility and as such there is the possibility of other rental groups being in the space at the same time as Change Conference. Chaperones are responsible for their students and required for any attendee under the age of 18

There is a charge for parking. It is $10 per day per vehicle but buses are free. Public transit or arranging a carpool are both great options. Click here for public transit details.
